The State University College of Technology at Delhi is throwing itself a birthday party after a century of “inspiring minds” and “changing lives,” the college says.
The months-long party will feature concerts, competitions and community events through early June.
“It was the community’s vision that made SUNY Delhi a college 100 years ago, and we are grateful for that,” President Candace S. Vancko said. “So, we are extending a special invitation to the community to join us in celebrating the college’s 100th birthday.”
The celebration will kick off Friday at 7 p.m. with the premiere of “Mise en Place,” a documentary about the SUNY Delhi culinary team’s 2010 national championship. The screening will be followed by a reception with film director Kent Garrett.
The presentation will continue in October with a presentation, “SUNY Delhi: The Region and the State 100 Years Ago” on Oct. 18; a haunted house and a film, “Mission: Wolf” on Oct. 29, and a Halloween presentation by John Zaffis of the SciFi Channel’s “Ghost Hunters” about the ghosts and spirits he’s encountered.
