Huckins, a history buff who enjoys visiting historical sites and watching the History Channel, said he likes seafood and Chinese food. He’ll receive his award Monday at NYSID’s annual meeting in Saratoga Springs. A short video featuring Huckins will be shown at the awards ceremony, and he will receive $1,500 in prize money and be featured in the NYSID annual yearbook.
Sessions noted that the qualities that recommended Huckins for the award; teamwork, motivation, a desire to improve, are honored by employers regardless of an employee’s disability or lack thereof.
Said Sessions, “It’s wonderful to see someone who’s worked hard recognized.”
