Cider mill to host Antique Engine Show

---- — The Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard will host its 20th annual Antique Engine Show on Saturday and Sunday.

Single-cylinder gas engine enthusiasts around the region will displaying their antiques from the early 1900s.

Returning to the show this year will be John and Kris Dingman’s 1921, 7-hp. Galloway Masterpiece and David Lambert’s 1903, 15-horsepower Reid Engine weighing in at more than 5,000 pounds with 5-foot diameter flywheels.

Those power-plants will be demonstrated throughout the show along with many other collections. The Engine Show will be held rain or shine both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

On Saturday only, the mill will hold a tent sale in conjunction with the annual Fly Creek Community Day area-wide lawn sales. There will be more than 50 lawn sales, shows and special events throughout the Fly Creek area, according to a media release.

Saturday morning will begin with a pancake breakfast served at the Fly Creek Fire Hall from 7:30 to 11 a.m.

Fly Creek Area Historical Society will sell coffee and sweets starting at 8:30 a.m. followed by hot dogs and hamburgers. The Fly Creek Methodist Church will hold a bake sale in addition to a large lawn sale on its grounds.

Visitors for all events can register at the Grange Hall and receive a map of the participating sales.
