If you need a little kindness in your life, the students at Milford Central School have you covered.
The school celebrated World Kindness Day on Tuesday with a variety of activities led by the school’s Kindness Revolution Club. And on Sunday, students will bring a little of that spirit to the Southside Mall, as they participate in a worldwide flash mob.
The flash mob will kick off at noon in the mall as part of an event called Dance for Kindness, presented by Life Vest Inside.
According to a media release, Life Vest Inside is a nonprofit organization “dedicated to spreading kindness, empowering people and building self-esteem and self-value.”
The dancers from Milford will be joining flash mob participants in Australia, Chile, India, London, Canada and other countries, performing a dance to a song prepared for the occasion by the Dance for Kindness organizers.
“The event will involve a group of people coming together to inspire and instill kindness, love and respect in the hearts of viewers,” according to the release.
After the performance, acts of kindness cards will be distributed in each location to illustrate that kindness can create a ripple effect whose reach has no boundaries.”
Celebrations at the school earlier in the week included graffiti art, face painting and group activities.
