---- — Brewery Ommegang will be holding its Belgium Comes to Cooperstown (BCTC) festival today.

The festival will feature the finale of Brewery Ommegang and Saveur Magazine’s Hop Chef contest. The contest will ask chef’s to create a “perfect pairing” of food and an Ommegang ale, and dishes will be judged by a panel of national and local food and beer critics.

The winning chef will receive a prize package that includes a 12 month position on Saveur Magazine’s Taste Makers Board, a showcase area with Brewery Ommegang at Saveur’s summer BBQ 2014 and a showcase at StarChef’s International Chefs Convention in 2013.

The festival will also have over 75 breweries and importers pouring Belgian and Belgian-style beers, a cigar tent, a cheese tent, a Ferris wheel, live music and an art contest hosted by Brooklyn artist Mike Perry.

The theme of this year’s BCTC festival is Seinfeld/NY State “A Beer Festival about Nothing.” The event is sold out to the public, and will be attended by more than 3,000 people.
