The Courtyard by Marriott hotel on the South Side of Oneonta is planning to open Thursday.
The hotel will feature what its calls a “Refreshing Business” lobby environment, where guests can enjoy an open and flexible space. Along with media pods, Wi-Fi and a variety of seating zones, the redefined space is ideal for everything from pop-up meetings to social gatherings.
It also offers room designs that help guests stay connected, productive and comfortable. Each room features plush bedding, a functional work space, spacious bathrooms, a separate seating area and complimentary in-room high-speed Internet connection.
Located at 116 Courtyard Drive, the hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Rainbow Hotel Group. Rates begin at $119 per night.
Fly Creek Mill reopening
The Fly Creek Cider Mill will reopen for its 157th season Saturday with new idea brought home from the North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association conference in Portland, Ore.
One new event this year is the inaugural Cider Run 5K Fun Run/3K Walk fundraiser to benefit the United Way of Delaware and Otsego Counties. The race will start and end at the Mill on April 27 at 10 a.m. Participants who register before April 1 will receive a commemorative T-shirt and pint glass filled with hard or sweet cider upon completion of the race. Biomass seminar planned
The second Northeast Agricultural Biomass Heating Seminar is scheduled for Wednesday at the City Center in Saratoga Springs.
Heating with agricultural biomass fuels, such as grass, willow and crop residues, how to establish energy crops on marginal lands, and the densification, combustion, emissions and economics of crop biomass at residential and commercial scales are among the topics that will be covered.
