At Home Care marks 25 years

At Home Care Inc., a part of the Bassett Healthcare Network, is marking 25 years in business as the demand for at-home healthcare expands nationwide.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were more than 1.4 million home health patients in 2007, the latest year for which such figures are available. This number is expected to increase as the population ages and the desire to “age in place” continues, the CDC says.

At Home Care patient volumes have mirrored this trend, the company said in the media release. The Oneonta-based home health agency cares for an average of 800 patients a day, a number that has more than doubled in the last five years, according to the press release.
