Solar power proposal deadline pushed back
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority has extended the deadline for proposals to take part in the NY-Sun Competitive PV Program, which brings affordable photovoltaic (PV) power to businesses, factories, municipal buildings and other larger commercial and industrial customers.
Announced in August, the program makes as much as $107 million available through the end of 2013. A total of $36.4 million is set aside for 2012; the rest will be awarded next year.
Proposals for the first round of funding were due Thursday, but NYSERDA has extended the deadline to Dec. 5, because of Hurricane Sandy.
Cancer-fighting tool to be displayed
The FoxCare Center in Oneonta, in conjunction with the Otsego County Chamber, will be showing off its new linear accelerator Nov. 15 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The advanced technology offers high-precision treatment for cancer patients, according to the Bassett Cancer Institute and A.O. Fox Hospital, and its purchase was made possible, in part, by the Dewar Foundation, Community Bank and the Robinson Broadhurst Foundation.
