Chenango development breakfast planned

Commerce Chenango and NBT Bank will host their annual economic forecast breakfast Wednesday at the Silo Restaurant in Norwich.

The keynote speaker will be SUNY Binghamton President Harvey Stenger, has taken a role in the region’s revitalization as co-chairman of the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council.

At the forecast breakfast, Stenger will provide an overview of the university and his efforts to enhance economic development in the Southern Tier.

Cascun Farms, Sunrise Family Farms and Purdy and Sons Inc. will provide breakfast. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Chamber members may attend for $25 and non-members for $35.

The Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown has been named one of the 2013 Best Hotels in New York state by U.S. News & World Report.

Recognition as a best hotel is based on the aggregate opinion of travel experts and guests expressed through awards, recommendations, and ratings.

U.S. News factored in the prominence of industry awards a hotel received along with its reputation among travel experts and guests. U.S. News considered 1,639 U.S. luxury hotels and 273 Caribbean hotels for its 2013 rankings. Only a fraction scored high enough to be named best hotels.
