AREA MARKETING FIRM TO GIVE AWAY FREE WEBSITE
Central New York Mobile Marketing, a local business providing online marketing services, is hosting its third annual contest offering a free website for a local nonprofit organization, and the public will get to help choose the winner.
Since beginning operations in January of 2012, Central NY Mobile Marketing has donated one website per year to a local nonprofit. Previous recipients are Susquehanna SPCA and the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society.
Andy Mason, co-president for Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society, expressed his gratitude for the program, saying, “Susan O’Handley gave the website a big overhaul, adding graphics and features that rival any I have seen. Susan is a professional who did this valuable work gratis, and largely out of view. We thank her for sharing her talents so generously.”
Nominations for area nonprofits are being accepted through Dec. 15, with voting to take place between Dec. 16-31. Nominations can be submitted via CNYMM’s Facebook page, at facebook.com/CNYMM. The winner will be announced on 1/1/14.

OMMEGANG TAKES BRONZE IN BEER FESTIVAL
Brewery Ommegang took home a bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival, held in Denver, Colo., from Oct. 10 through 12. According to a media release, the festival includes one of the pre-eminent beer competitions in the nation.
Ommegang’s award, in the Belgian Style Abbey Ale category, was for its Three Philosophers beer.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo hailed Ommegang and six other New York breweries that won medals at the festival in a media release this week, noting that “New York is quickly becoming the craft beer capital of the country.”
Paul Leone, executive director of the New York State Brewers Association said, “The Great American Beer Festival is a world class festival celebrating the best craft beer in the United States. This year, New York beer companies large and small took home seven medals, further demonstrating the quality of beer being brewed in this state.”
