May 12, 2008 07:51 am May 12: Let's talk toilets. According to the New York State Public Service Commission, toilets waste more water than anything else in the home. There are several easy things you can do to change this. The most simple is to limit flushes. By flushing solid waste only, or not flushing the toilet at night, you can halve your toilet's water use. Or place a weighted container in your toilet tank. With less room in the tank, it takes less water to refill it after each flush.
