The ForestConnect Internet Seminar Series is an interactive Web conference. Each seminar uses the Internet to distribute, or webcast, a live and interactive presentation. Seminars occur on the third Wednesday of each month. Participants can join on any computer with a high-speed Internet connection and a Web browser. Participants must pre-register once, without charge, at www.ForestConnect.info. E-mail notification will be sent to registrants for secure login.

Geocaching intro planned

Landis Arboretum will host an introduction to geocaching from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Interested participants are invited sign up for the event by calling the Arboretum at (518) 875-6935, message option No. 1. A suggested donation will be collected $5.

The May 24 event will include a representative of L.L. Bean, which has offered a GPS expert and units for the event. Participants will meet in the Arboretum meeting house for an introduction. Those who attend may bring their own GPS unit, or borrow one for the event.

Organizers said this is a family-focused event that is open to all. Those who attend should dress for the weather.
