The Bovina Historical Society will host its annual Bovina Day events this weekend. The celebration will kick off with performances of "Brushland Melodrama" at 7 and 9 p.m. Friday, performed by local children at the Bovina Center Community Hall.

Saturday's events will include a townwide yard sale, a church craft sale and a library book sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. From 8 to 10 a.m., the fire hall on Maple Street will offer coffee, tea and baked goods by donation. The hall will be open until 2 p.m., celebrating the department's 60th anniversary with a display of contemporary and vintage equipment. Games for children will begin at 10 a.m.

The Bovina United Presbyterian Church on Main Street will sell crafts, knitted items, vintage linens and handmade jewelry, as well as white elephant items.

The Bovina Historical Society luncheon will run from noon to 2 p.m. at the Brays' home on Main Street next to the community playground. The first season of vintage baseball in Bovina will kick off with a game against the Mountain Athletic Club of Fleischmanns following lunch.

The anniversary parade is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at Coulter Brook and will end at the Creamery Flat. Following the parade at 6 p.m., community members are asked to bring a dish to pass to the old ball field next to the library for a picnic. At 7 p.m., Ray LaFever will make a presentation about the history of the Bovina Town picnic. Following LeFever's presentation, there will be live music at the fire hall.
