July 18, 1983

Miss Otsego County Teenager, 1983, is Jacqueline Barry, 17, a senior at Oneonta High School. She was crowned Saturday evening by the 1982 Miss Otsego Deborah Picolla, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Picolla.

The award was the second Miss Barry won on the Oneonta High School stage. She was named best supporting actress for her role in the 1982 production of "Grease" She was also in the cast of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" this year, and in several other smaller productions.

Miss Barry is the daughter of Douglas Barry, 514 Main St., Oneonta. She is secretary of the National Thespian Club and the Future Business of America.

Miss Barry was sponsored by Banta's Office Supply.

Others from the 24 contestants who won the top places were: Christine Tilke, first runner-up; Janet Hurley, second runner-up; Lisa Kollgaard of Laurens, third runner-up; Christine Pondolfino, fourth runner-up.

Other girls in the top 11 were: Elaine Osmond of Morris, Lisa Muehl of Schenevus, Kelly Miller, Kelly Lints of Otego, Kelly Pondolfino and Tina Tranvaag, who was also named Miss Congeniality.

Bill Bright was master of ceremonies. Brett Moore and Joe Rossi, vocalists, entertained during the program. Ushering the girls were Joe Angelino, Willie Getman, Vince Toscano, Peter Foland, Dean Toscano, Peter Foland, Dean Toscano and Mark Ward. Pianist was Christina Dixon.
