EAST MEREDITH _ More than 30 exhibitors and dozens of vintage gas and kerosone-driven engines are expected for Hanford Mills' third annual Antique Engine Jamboree on Sept. 22 and 23.

Many exhibitors from the past two jamborees will return, including Dan Rion of Prattsville, owner of more than 100 antique engines; Frank Flegl of Catskill, who will operate his Chase Automatic shingle mill; and David Conroy of Lyons, who will bring his steam launch "Narcissus."

Water pumps, washing machines and other machines operated by the mechanical workhorses will be doing the chores. Also on display will be antique tractors and trucks, including a 1924 Ford Panel Truck, the restored property of Freihofer's Baking Co.

Of special interest, the museum's water-powered circular sawmill will be demonstrated at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. both days, while the rest of the historic working mill and electric plant will be working both days.

The East Meredith Fire Department will offer a chicken barbecue, and the department's Ladies Auxiliary will offer light refreshments in the morning.

Music will be by members of the Susquehanna String band.

The Misses Katherine Foster, Edna Bird and Janet Maxwell will represent the Delhi Business and Professional Women's Club at this meeting of the New York State Federation, which will take place at the same time.

The Delhi BPW Club, of which Mrs. David Smith is president, is one of 124 clubs in New York State. Nationally, more than 170,000 members are dedicated to the federation's goals of promoting the interests of working women, and elevating the standards for business and professional women everywhere.
