The device will also cut down appreciably on the costs of X-ray film used in hospital facilities for making copies of X-rays.
The two Oneontans sharing the $100 award from the State Commission Employee Suggestion Program are Charles R. Morehouse of 3 Academy Place, and Robert J. Harder of 5 Monroe Ave.
Both men supplied the know-how and the technical skill to construct the device which makes possible contact reproduction of X-ray negative film with the waste of only one sheet of film. Before they perfected their device such a copying job meant the waste of up to 10 sheets of film every time a different X-ray was copied.
Mr. Morehouse, who has worked since 1936 at Homer Folks and is senior x-ray technician, said the procedure works by “over-exposure” of the film.
