Step Back in Time: Dec. 23, 2013

As conditions now stand, Mr. Damascke reported Sunday night:

“We need about a foot more of snow before we can open the ski tow.

“The pond has too much snow on it for skating, and the ice is too thin to allow us to get the snow off it.

“The hockey rink has a good ice base, but we need two or three more days of real cold weather in order to put the finishing layer of ice on it.”

Mr. Damaschke said he hoped to have all three facilities usable “by next week some time.”

It all depends on what Mr. Damaschke termed “better” weather conditions in the future.
