Over 1000 men, women and children, ski enthusiasts from near and far took advantage of the perfect weather, skiing Saturday and Sunday to their hearts content, on Mt. Otsego in Pierstown.

The ski facility here, one of the oldest in the east has been operated for the past 26 years on its present location, which covers over 150 acres, according to Lester Hanson of Cooperstown, its present owner.

There are five open slopes and five trails on Mt. Otsego. Four rope tows carry the skiers aloft and in 1961 a T-Bar was the new improvement cranked into the Mt. Otsego ski facility operation. It is a 2,100-foot T-bar, carrying skiers to the top of one of the slopes.
