An appreciated Christmas gift

(Continued)

A class for audiobooks will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, for those using mp3 players,computers, iPods, iPads, Kindle Fires, Nook HD, and more. Do you travel for work or like to multi-task? Maybe audiobooks are for you. Not only can you get books on CD at the library, but you can also download audiobooks from home using a variety of devices. Learn how you can stay in this winter with our Download Zone service. Software is needed to listen to audiobooks on most players and computers. Unless you have an app-compatible device, you will need to bring your own laptop to fully participate. You may still come to learn if you are unable to bring your own laptop.

DISCOVER NEW WORLDS WITH A NEW GENRE

For the new year, try a new genre. Visit the library to learn about specific subgenres such as Steampunk, Magical Realism, Time Travel, Highland Romance, Amish Romance, Urban Fantasy, Cyberpunk. Did you know when you read “Leviathan” by Scott Westerfield that you were reading Steampunk? Magical Realism is a genre where magic elements are a natural part of an otherwise mundane, realistic environment like in the book “One Hundred Years of Solitude” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Library Hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; closed Sunday.
