DELHI — Thomas Mirabito of Sidney was elected president of the newly formed Delaware County Chamber of Commerce at the first meeting of the directors of the group.
Other officers elected are: Gerald Matthews of Delhi, first vice president; Douglas McKenzie of Stamford, second vice president; C. Stewart Goff of Hancock, secretary and Robert Thomson of Delhi, treasurer.
Mr. Mirabito is a native of Norwich, where he attended public schools. He also attended Alfred University. He has been in business in Sidney since 1941 and is president of James Mirabito and Sons, Inc. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Sidney for five years, mayor of the village for eight years, president of the Sidney Chamber of Commerce for two years, and presently is president of the Sidney Development Corporation.
New directors of the group are: Mr. Mirabito, Mr. Matthews, Mr. McKenzie, Mr. Goff, Mr. Thomson, William Davis and Carlton Dwight, Sidney; Warren Hyzer, Franklin; Robert Hanson, Deposit; Jerome J. Roach Jr. and Richard Lambrect, Walton; August Tacea, Hancock; Harry Oberg, Downsville; Leyden Smith, Fleischmanns; Robert Hoyt, Grand Gorge; Bruce Parizo, Roxbury; and Sterling J. Carrington, Davenport.
