Blood to be tested

The Tri-Town Business and Professional Women's Club will sponsor their annual multi-phase blood analysis scholarship fundraiser from 6 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Sidney Middle School cafeteria, at 13 East Pearl Street in Sidney.

The AMBA Wellness Clinic will offer about 36 doctor-ordered blood tests for $35. Tests include cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglyceride. Tests are also available for thyroxine, prostate PSA, cardio CRP and there is a take-home colon rectal test. Separate fees are charged for each of these extra tests.

You must have a prescription from your doctor for the testing, and the specialized tests require separate prescriptions.

AMBA is running differently now and the sponsoring organization has to collect their fee separately from the AMBA Blood lab fee. The Tri-Town BPW will be charging a separate fee of $6 per participant, payable by cash or check made out to Tri-Town BPW.

The scholarship award rotates annually between Bainbridge-Guilford, Sidney and Unatego. Funds have also been used to sponsor young women attending the NYS Business and Professional Women's Annual Youth Leadership Conference.

To make an appointment, call (800) 234-8888 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those interested will need to provide their doctor's name and address when making appointments.
