Citing the challenge of researching complicated law cases, former Otsego County District Attorney Colin Ingham has accepted a post as confidential law clerk to state Supreme Court Justice Carl Mugglin in Delaware County.
Ingham, 40, has left the Ingham and Holmes P.C. law firm on Main Street in Oneonta for the job with Mugglin, which began April 14. Ingham would not say what his salary will be as Mugglin’s confidential clerk, but comparing his income now to that of his private practice he said, “suffice it to say I consider it an honor to be in the position” with Mugglin.
Because the clerk’s post is full time, Ingham has left his firm, which will now be known as the Holmes Law Firm.

Chances of Enterprise Aluminum Company — one of the city’s chief industries — continuing operations in Oneonta appear very dim at this time.
This became evident Thursday when David J. Zuver, president and general manager of Enterprise told local civic officials that financial results of the Oneonta operation have been disappointing and that they have placed “an intolerable burden” on the firm.
He spoke at a meeting of Oneonta Chamber of Commerce and Otsego County Development Corporation officials called at his request.
At one point Mr. Zuver said “some curtailment of Oneonta operations appears inevitable,” and at another point explained “our employ
ees and their families must realize that an extremely serious economic decision faces our company.”
The loss of the plant would be a heavy blow to the economy of Oneonta. The payroll annually represents a figure of around $330,000. Current employment is around 100 people at the Sixth Ward plant and the weekly payroll, officials say, is in the $6,-7,000 area.
Mr. Zuver promised that the company’s employees and the union will be kept informed and notified immediately when the directors make their final decision.
