Oneonta High won its 20th straight tennis match and ended its season with a perfect 11-0 record as it turned back Norwich 8-1 yesterday on the Wilber Park courts. This is the first undefeated tennis team in the school’s history.
Number one man John Costa, number two man Mike House, and Mike Belden all finished the season unbeaten in singles matches. According to coach George Waddington, “This is the first time a number one man had gone undefeated in a long time. But the whole season was a team effort. No one man can be singled out. Everyone played good tennis.”
