A Delhi native, Raymond Dale Bellino, 29, has been named to a three-year probationary appointment as principal of the Greater Plains and Chestnut Street Schools to succeed William H. Swain, who has resigned to take a teaching assignment in Africa.
The announcement was made Wednesday by Dr. Harold V. Hager, superintendent.
Mr. Bellino, who married the former Miss Susan Sheetz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Sheetz of Goodyear Lake and has a six year old son, Barry, comes to his new assignment from the Norton, Mass., Elementary School where he served as principal from 1961 to 1964.
Mr. Bellino was graduated from Delaware Academy, Delhi, in 1953 and accepted a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from SUCO in 1957; an M.A. degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Iowa in 1959, and his degree of Doctor of Education from Boston University in 1963.
His past experience includes two years of teaching Sixth Grade at the Campus School of the University of Iowa and two years of sixth grade teaching at the Phillips-Kingsbury School, Wellesley, Mass., before going to the Norton Elementary School as principal in 1961.Step Back in Time features news items from The Daily Star 25 and 50 years ago.
