DELHI — Veronica Vamosy, Stamford, was chosen to be one of six 4-H clubbers in the United States to report to the nation. Next April these six young people will report to President Kennedy, and to the nation, on what 4-H is doing for the youth of the nation.
The six young people will represent over two million 4-H Club members in the United States. They were chosen from a group of National 4-H Citizenship and Achievement winners. Veronica was an Achievement winner.
Veronica hails from a family with a long 4-H interest and background. Both of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Vamosy, have been 4-H leaders for many years — Mr. Vamosy for 21 years and Mrs. Vamosy for 16 years.
“Ronnie” has been active in leadership in her club, the Utsayantha Aggies, as well as in the county.
She has carried a variety of projects, ranging from clothing to vegetable and flower gardening, dairying, food preservation, foods and nutrition, home management, home improvement, and electricity, doing an excellent job with all of them.
Besides her projects, she has been an outstanding demonstrator and exhibitor at both county and state fairs and is active in her home community.
She is now a junior at the College of St. Rose in Albany with a major in mathematics. She says 4-H club work has been the most wonderful thing that has happened to her in her lifetime.
