Negotiations have been completed for the location of two new plants in the Oneonta area.
This was announced Tuesday after officials of the Central Asphalt Company and the D&D Supply Co. completed arrangements to locate operations here which will add at least 15 jobs to the city’s employment list.
Central Asphalt has secured approximately six acres in the Town of Oneonta (West End area) to set up an 80,000 gallon liquid asphalt storage tank plant, and D&D will start immediately to build a 50 x 150 foot concrete structure at the end of Wells Avenue (East end) to manufacture concrete block and related products.
Announcement that the two firms had completed negotiations to settle in Oneonta was made by the Industrial Development Committee of the Greater Oneonta Chamber of Commerce. Auto dealer James Putnam is the chairman of the committee.
Executive manager Richard Kelso of the Chamber of Commerce said special emphasis should be given to the cooperation by the City of Oneonta.
