CHILDREN’S BOOKS

“Hug a Bull: An Ode to Animal Dads” by Aaron Zenz captures the name of male animals in rhyming text to tell a warm story. Ganders, bulls, drones, stallions and more animals are showcased at the end of the book with the animal picture and name followed by the male name. A great way for youngsters to learn new words.

Fancy Nancy fans will delight in the newest release, “Fancy Nancy: Fanciest Doll in the Universe.” Author Jane O’Connor continues to delight children with Nancy’s latest escapades. Fancy Nancy’s sister drew a tattoo in permanent ink on Nancy’s special doll. Fancy Nancy is angry and upset. When her mother proposes a fancy doll party, Nancy accepts. At the party, something unusual happens that readers won’t expect.

Mark Teague will have the whole family laughing in “The Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf.” This takeoff on the traditional fairy tale takes an unusual turn after the wolf falls over in a faint trying to blow down the third little pig’s house. Don’t miss it.
