Teresa Youngs, 17, of Rogers Hollow Road, Unadilla, was selected to participate in a National Young Leaders Conference because of her academic achievement, leadership and citizenship. She will represent the 25th Congressional District at the conference and was selected by district Rep. Sherwood Boehlert.

The daughter of Philip and Susan Youngs, Teresa plays the tuba in the high school band and played in a recent Area All-State band.

She is also an 11-year ballet and jazz dance veteran, Honor Society vice president, and has been All-County each year for her tuba playing. On Monday, she also learned that she won a DAR Good Citizenship Award.

Teresa plans to go to college next year to study math and science.
