Fifteen complete firefighter course

  • Library Corner
    Huntington Memorial Library will be closed Friday and Saturday for the Independence Day weekend. Regular hours will resume Monday at 9 a.m. Have a safe and fun weekend, from all of us at the library.
  • Plans set for Lake Day
    A full day of outdoor events is planned for Lake Appreciation Day, to be held Saturday, July 11, at Glimmerglass State Park. The event will kick off with a youth trail clean-up program, which will be followed by a number of recreational and educational outdoor activities and a potluck lunch. Visitors are also invited to "treasure hunt" along the trails of the park for a Glimmerglass Opera water bottle with a free pair of opera tickets hidden inside.
  • Fair-on-the-Square to begin on Friday
    Fair-on-the-Square will begin Friday at Courthouse Square in Delhi. The fair will run from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays through July 24, rain or shine. This annual event features fundraisers, live music, entertainment, games, crafts and more. Some benches, tables and chairs will be provided; those who attend may bring lawn chairs.
  • Be safe on the Fourth of July
    The Fourth of July is a time for celebration across the country, and here in Otsego County fireworks are a crowd favorite each year. Whether at a professional show or in the backyard, fireworks can be fun to watch, but they can also be very dangerous.
  • Three local events set for Organic Field Days
    Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York announced its 2009 Organic Field Days schedule, including several local events.
  • Afton Fair to feature music, races and more
    The 120th Afton Fair will begin July 8 and continue through July 12, featuring a reduced admission price of $3 for ages 12 and older, and free for children ages 11 and younger. Grandstand and 88 BC/Afton Sertoma Stage Entertainment is free with paid gate admission. The fair will feature a variety of animal displays and contests as well as entertainment for the entire family to enjoy.
  • Dollars for Scholars recipients honored
    The Oneonta Chapter of Dollars for Scholars Board of Directors welcomed families, sponsors of awards and community members to the 17th annual recognition program of scholarship recipients. The event took place on Tuesday, June 2, in the Stack Lounge/Dewar Union on the Hartwick College campus.
