{"HeadlineLight14"/}Youth Programs

Fall programs for children at Huntington Memorial Library will begin the week of Sept. 2. Children's Coordinator Jennifer Holland conducts the programs.

All programs require registration which can be done in person, by calling the library at 432-1980, or by registering online at

www.hmloneonta.org.

Library Lap Sit

Lap Sit is a reading program for infants from birth to 13 months accompanied by a parent or care giver. Activities include stories, songs, and action rhymes. The program is scheduled for 9:30 to 10 a.m. Thursdays.

Tiny Tots

This is a program for children ages 14 to 24 months accompanied by a parent or caregiver. It is scheduled for 10:30 to 11 a.m. Thursdays. There will be stories, songs, puppets and other activities each week.

Toddler Time

This program is for 2- and 3-year-olds accompanied by an adult. This program includes stories, songs, crafts and other fun activities. Programs will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and 9:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesdays. Parents may choose one of these times.

Preschool Storytime

Four- and 5-year-olds will meet from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Tuesdays. They will enjoy stories, games, songs and crafts each week, along with other activities. Parents may accompany children if they want.

Afterschool Kids Club

Each week children will learn silly songs, play games, listen to great stories and make fun crafts. Children ages 4 to 7 will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Parents may accompany children.

Afternoon Adventures

Afternoon Adventures will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays for children ages 8 to 12.

"What lies beneath the waves?" will be the featured theme this fall. Discover deep sea creatures, listen to the story "Wave Traveler" by P.R. Morrison, and make your own deep-sea submarine.

Page Turners

Join our reading group for 8- to 12-year-olds. Parents are welcome, but do not have to attend. Read the book before you come and discuss it at the program. Books are available for pickup the month before the discussion date, and the group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. The featured book for September is "Gilda Joyce, Psychic Investigator" by Jennifer Allison. New members are always welcome.

Teen Page Turners

Teens meet the last Monday of the month in their book group. Books are read before the program and are discussed when the group meets. The book for September is "The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks" by E. Lockhart. New members are always welcome.

Library Hours: Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m-5:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Closed Sunday.
