The Center for Social Responsibility and Community of the State University College at Oneonta will present its ninth annual Volunteerism and Social Responsibility conference from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday in the Morris Conference Center on campus.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., and participants in the conference will receive a complimentary lunch and a t-shirt. Admission to the conference is complimentary, and members of the community are invited to participate.
The conference will open with a keynote address featuring Roger Sullivan, associate vice president for student development at SUNY Oneonta, who will present "The Decision."
A recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service, Sullivan will address the decision of how to balance needs while serving others, particularly in times of social and economic uncertainty.
Following the keynote address, participants will choose from workshops:

"Psychological Warfare of Success" by Andrew Giordonello of Oneonta Job Corps Academy
"Broadening Your Pitifully Narrow Horizon" by Christian Vesterfelt of SUNY Delhi
"'Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You': Old Ideas-New Applications" by Bruce Helstrom of Oneonta Job Corps Academy
"Get on the Bus" by Dr. Karl Seeley of Hartwick College
"Building Character Brick by Brick" by Dr. Ashok Malhotra of SUNY Oneonta
"St. Judes" by SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick College students.
The conference is co-sponsored by the SUNY Oneonta Center for Social Responsibility and Community, the SUNY Delhi O'Connor Center for Community Service, Hartwick College's Office for Community Involvement and Volunteerism and the Oneonta Job Corps Academy.
