Summer program to begin in Franklin

The Franklin Free Library will present Summertime Arts, Education, and Just Plain Fun starting Tuesday. All programs are free and take place at 10 a.m. Tuesdays at the library at 334 Main St.

The following is the schedule:

Tuesday: From Minor to Major, spooky sounds and happy notes. Children will learn the effects of intervals and chords with musicians Jesse Cohen, Rebecca Harrington, Kristina Johnson and Sadiq Abdu-Shahid.

July 5: The World of Magic, with award-winning magician and illusionist Leon Etienne.

July 12: Rumbafrica, music and dance led by Tshibangu Kadima from Democratic Republic of Congo .

July 19: Aladdin, presented by the Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre

July 26: Sounds and Stories from the Natural World. Dan Hill, Cayuga flute maker and player, will present tales and songs of the People of the Longhouse.

Aug. 2: Peter and The Wolf with Mosiac Winds, a woodwind quintet presenting stories and music.

Aug. 9: Panigma: Caribbean steel drum band.

Aug. 16: One World, Many Songs, presented by singer-songwriter Ruth Pelham.

Aug. 23: Sulpoong, a traditional Korean percussion group, performing music and dance of Korea.

Aug. 30: One World, Many Dances, Natural Merrymaking and Dance with Paul Rosenberg, George Wilson and friends.
