Celebration set at College Camp

The SUNY Oneonta College Camp Lodge will host free Yuletide Celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event is free and open to the public. Participants will have the opportunity to create seasonal crafts, hunt for the Yule Log, hear holiday storytelling, and have snacks and refreshments.

The State University College at Oneonta College Camp is in Oneonta off Upper East Street about one mile past the intersection with Bugbee Road. The Yuletide Celebration is sponsored by the Bugbee Children's Center, SUNY Oneonta College Camp, SUNY Oneonta President's Office and Oneonta Auxiliary Services. The Yuletide Celebration is one in a series of monthly events celebrating Bugbee Children's Center 25 years of service in the greater Oneonta community. Scrapbooking night planned

Main Street Baptist Church will host a monthly scrapbooking "Crop Night" from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday. For more information, call 267-4289.

Boys and Girls Club to have party

The Oneonta Boys and Girls Club's Annual Christmas Party will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 18. The party is for all children, but those younger than 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Families are encouraged to attend.

This year's party will feature a magic show by Philip and Henry Productions. Caroling, pizza and cake will be offered. Santa will arrive at 1 p.m. to visit with all of the children. This party is free to the community. For more information, call the club at 432-1133.

Anxiety, depression group to form

A group concerning individuals experiencing difficulties with anxiety and/or depression in their daily lives or lifelong illness is starting up in Oneonta.

This group will have a limited amount of applicants and it is strictly first-come, first-served policy.

Those who do not make the initial selection will be kept on a list to be called if an opening occurs.

Organizers said this group is also intended and guided toward self-improvement through group involvement.

The group will not bet run by a professional in the mental health field. The initial meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at the Elm Park United Methodist Church, 401 Chestnut St., Oneonta. This group will meet weekly.
