Springbrook gala raises $151K

Springbrook raised more than $150,000 at its annual gala April 9, according to a media release from the nonprofit organization.

The "Together Hand in Hand" event was attended by 300 guests, raising $151,000 to support the programs and services Springbrook provides to individuals with developmental disabilities.

"We are gratified by the continued support for Springbrook during this exciting time," Chief Executive Officer Patricia Kennedy said in the release.

During the gala, Kennedy and capital campaign co-chairman Douglas Gulotty announced the completion of "Coming Home: The Campaign for Springbrook," in which they raised $5 million over 4½ years. It was the largest capital campaign the agency has undertaken in its 86-year history, according to the release.

The campaign provides funding for the $22.5 million Coming Home Expansion Project, which will bring 24 students back to Springbrook who had been placed in residential programs out of state.

The Coming Home Campaign became public in August 2006, when Paychex founder B. Thomas Golisano announced his $2.5 million dollar-for-dollar matching challenge at a media conference on Springbrook's main campus in Portlandville.
