To Milford native Paul Wolfe, crew chief of the No. 2 Penske Dodge in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

He and his driver, Brad Keselowski, are 20 points ahead of five-time champion Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus’ No. 48 Hendrick team going into the final race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday.

Wolfe and Keselowski, who were behind by seven points before Phoenix on Sunday, took over the championship lead after Johnson blew a tire, finishing 32nd.

Wolfe started in NASCAR as a driver in 2000 and worked for a series of teams as a driver and crew chief before joining Penske in 2010. That year, he and Keselowski won Penske’s first national series championship in the Nationwide Series.

The following year, Wolfe joined Keseleowski in the top-tier series, winning three races and finishing fifth for the season.

We wish Wolfe the best of luck Sunday, and we will be cheering him on.

To SUNY Oneonta, for thinking internationally when introducing the Global Movement Festival on Monday in the Hunt Union Ballroom.

Hosted by the World Percussion Ensemble and the Multicultural Student Council, the festival provided a chance for the school population and the greater Oneonta community to come together to experience life beyond our borders in a family-friendly way.

This included an exhibition of folk dances from around the world, as well as food, a fashion show, poetry and more.

Not only did the festival offer an opportunity for all of us to think globally, but also the donations collected during the event — such as shampoo, tissues, blankets, flashlights, pencils, crayons and toothbrushes — go to the Riverside Elementary School Food Pantry to help those who need those items the most.

To organizers and participants in the many Veterans Days events held throughout our area to salute our servicemen and women.
