To the inclusion of a locally made product in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.
The complex will feature portable pitching mounds made by Sportfield Specialties Inc. of Delhi. The company makes large-scale sports equipment such as foul poles, batting tunnels, dugouts and backstops. Equipment created by the company was previously featured in the inaugural Pinstripe Bowl football game played at Yankee Stadium in 2010, and in the 2008 Super Bowl.
“We are extremely pleased that the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex has chosen our PortaPitch for its multi-sport fields,” SSI President Wayne Oliver said in a media release. “It was designed and constructed for heavy-duty use, so this will be a great opportunity to demonstrate its durability and realistic playability to players and their coaches.”
It’s always a pleasure to see locally made products featured on a national stage.
