The trip to Washington is being paid for by sponsors The Daily Star, SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Oneonta Science Discovery Center, ACCO Brands, Chobani, Amphenol and Casella Waste Systems.

We congratulate all the students for their hard work, and thank everyone who made the event possible.

To the students on the Roxbury Rockets Science Olympiad Team.

The A-team placed second overall at the Capitol Area Regional Tournament held at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School on March 2. The team earned four gold, two silver and two bronze medals during the competition.

The Rockets will move on to the finals at Syracuse University on April 12 and 13.

The B-team earned one event silver medal and placed fifth overall.

The teams participated in 17 events in regionals and will face eight additional events for states.

For nearly 30 years, Science Olympiad has encouraged STEM, or science, technology, engineering and mathematics, education.

We applaud the students for a job well done and will be cheering them on in April.
