As it turns out, Tuesday is the day when residents _ those with children in the school system and those who haven’t _ will pass judgment on the toil put in by the superintendents, department heads, business managers and school boards.
We find it puzzling that turnout for these elections is almost always far from impressive. People you couldn’t keep away from the polls during a presidential election year find that they’re too busy to cast ballots on budgets that will determine how much they’re going to pay in local taxes, and in many cases, who’s going to serve on a school board.
If you don’t vote on Tuesday, you pretty much give up your right to complain about your school taxes or actions by members of the school board.
So … vote.
