In Our Opinion: Cheers and Jeers

According to police, court action will likely proceed as a civil action case and will probably be handled in Otsego County Family Court.

Oneonta City Police Lt. Douglas Brenner said he spoke with at least one of the suspects, who admitted his involvement in the incident.

Whether the vandalism was done out of boredom, or the vandals’ desire to perform a criminal act, these actions cannot be tolerated by their parents or society.

We hope the punishment for those found guilty of this crime is to fix what they have done, or fix damage done by other vandals.

And, for a cheer within this jeer, we applaud the three Townsquare Media radio stations that raised about $10,500 in two hours to help pay for repairs to the dugout.
