Left is destroying our democracy
It seems that our legal citizens today are either overly complacent, preoccupied or too drugged out to realize our government is being usurped by leftist, socialist, communist tax cheats, ex-convicts and anarchists appointed by Obama to important government positions. This will lead to the demise of America.
For instance, the new radical adviser to the FCC intends to take drastic measures to silence any public broadcast station with huge taxes, and heavy fines on those that don't meet his approval. Censorship has always been a violation of our free speech, or has it been changed to "Simon Says"?
It seems those leftists now in charge don't want the public to hear of the dirty, illegal, underhanded tactics perpetrated behind closed doors. I don't believe most good Democrats even realize that their party has been taken over by Obama's radicals and the rest of you are puppets on a string. You had better wake up before it is too late.
Check out the new security group Obama intends to form, who I believe will answer only to him. Wasn't there a guy in European history who did that? We already have Homeland Security, CIA, FBI and a huge defense force. We do not need another goon squad like the uncontrollable ACORN thugs.
I don't want to waste time replying to vitriol about me by Pearlman and Knox, but to say I will not be quieted. There is nothing more pressing than our government leaders ignoring our Constitution, and the destruction of our democracy by radical leftists. Yet not a word of this travesty from the broadcast media except Cable 77 evenings from 5 to 9 p.m. Fox News, O'Reilly, Beck and Hannity, untwisted truth on the air. Try them _ you may like hearing the truth for a change.

I'm best qualified to be Oneonta's mayor
On Sept. 15, registered Democrats who reside in the city will have the opportunity to vote in a primary to select their candidate for mayor in the November election.
I believe that I am the best qualified candidate to be the chief executive officer of the city with its $15 million budget, hundreds of employees and thousands of taxpayers and residents.
After graduating from Middlebury College and serving as an Army officer in Vietnam, I began a career that gave me the opportunity to live in many communities and achieve demonstrable success in business, as a senior executive of a private research university, as the chief operating officer of the statewide SUNY system, and most recently as the president of Hartwick College. I have served on, and chaired boards of, a number of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. I serve on the board of The Future of Oneonta Foundation and have co-chaired the Mayors Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee.
I am married, have three teenage stepchildren, and enjoy living in a mixed neighborhood of college student renters and resident homeowners.
I love Oneonta. By working together we can improve the economy, strengthen our neighborhoods, more fully integrate our college students and year-round residents and increase our commitment to sustainability while balancing the budget and not unduly affecting property taxes.
I am hopeful that Democrats will choose me to be their candidate in the primary being held Sept. 15. At this time in our history we need to work together more than ever. If elected I will serve in that spirit.
