We need better way to manage pain
My fiance had back surgery five years ago. Since then, he has had chronic pain in his lower back, legs and neck. He also suffers from migraines, all as a result of nerve damage from the surgery.
The problem with chronic pain patients is the way they are treated by doctors, hospitals and virtually everyone else in society. Chronic pain patients deal with severe pain every single day, but when they try to seek relief through medication and shots, they are treated like drug addicts.
Doctors are afraid to write prescriptions for fear of repercussions. My fiance's doctor told him that if he needed stronger medicine, he would have to go to pain management. Pain management told him his doctor needed to give it to him. It's a vicious circle.
There has to be a better way! How long are these patients expected to endure this pain before somebody steps up to the plate and helps them without being treated like an addict? I know my fiance can't endure it much longer. The pain is getting worse and no one besides me seems to care! If anyone out there has a solution, please let the rest of us know.

America must reinvent itself
Fire full-time employees except two managers and hire only part-timers (30 hours per week) at minimum wage, to avoid paying benefits.
What is the reaction of the employees _ those let go and the newly hired part-timers without benefits? They take it on the chin, like most Americans in similar situations.
The big shots go home with multi-million dollar incomes. Those below usually can't support their families. That is American capitalism at work.
I say, sink the ship and start over.
America is sick, maybe unto death. It has lost its moral compass. The Europeans look at us aghast. To them, we are barbarians. And we are.
"You know what I think? I think we gotta make this little world all over again." (Raymond Chandler, "Farewell My Lovely.")
Certainly the American part of it.

All sex offenders should be registered
There has been a lot mentioned of sexual offenders not registering when they move. Which leads me to ask why are the rapists from years ago (before they had to register) not being made to show their address and register now?
I was kidnapped and brutally attacked as a teenager, and the man is still in our community and not registered. Other women in this area who have gone through the same should want these older sex offenders to be made public along with the others. We do not know when they could strike again, and we have our children to think about.
