County board forgets elderly
I’d like to speak on the heartlessness of our county board!
Having delivered hot meals five days a week for 9½ years, experience shows this to be a program well-accepted and once started becomes a necessary daily contact. Many are the times medical aid (911), help in or out of a chair, often an assisted lift off the floor, paper and mail delivered are included in the daily rounds! Not to mention the human element of one person to another. Often times the meal person is the only contact to be seen that day. Of course, a hot balanced meal is looked forward to!
I’m sure the department heads and administrators are deserving of a raise, but lets not forget that these elderly held jobs and paid taxes and now in need they deserve this service.
