The Daily Star
---- — This newspaper is in danger of letting its editorial opinions corrupt its news coverage. On Dec. 14, 2013, you ran a news headline on the recent Colorado school shooting that read “Gunman kills two, self at Colo. high school.” The shooter actually shot only one person before he killed himself. Your headline was wrong.
But more importantly and more troubling is that you did not report that this shooter was stopped by an armed security guard. Bad guy with a gun stopped by good guy with a gun. Not newsworthy? Please, folks, let’s cover the news accurately even if it’s at odds with your editorial policy.
