I would like to express another viewpoint on the New York Safety Track. I am personally affiliated with the track. I grew up in the area — Charlotteville — and although it is beautiful and I wouldn’t choose another hometown, we were/are very limited in opportunities. As of a year ago, I was ready to move in part because of very little commerce in the area.
To me, the Safety Track is a dream come true. It not only provides me an outlet to participate in one of my passions, but it has provided me economic opportunities. It has given the community, and future generations, an activity that is not involved with going to bars to have fun, or partaking in other harmful activities. The track utilizes local contractors and employs local residents, which is their priority.
Instead of hiring someone outside the area, the owners gave me, a local resident, the opportunity to create a motorcycle parts business. Now I am gladly able to stay in the area.
I ask you to consider that although this may not be your idea of fun, your idea of a pastime, to think that it is for someone else. And beyond the joy it brings to so many of us, the Safety Track brings much needed opportunity and commerce to the area.
Please look at the positives that the New York Safety Track is bringing to the community instead of focusing on the negative. Let’s help our community grow. To all of the supporters, thank you.
