The Daily Star
---- — Regarding Mr. Pinkey ‘s Nov. 19 column:
Interesting about Mr. Losie’s experience with his ads. The man has a business for how many years and now one word in the name is bad? I had three grease guns in my shop last week. I think they might possibly have turned into grease dispensing machines overnight. Rather foolish.
About the military, perhaps someone should follow the troops and scatter grass seed and plant trees? Again rather foolish.
Mr. Pinkey cited two examples of what he calls political bullying. I know space is limited in his column and he did not have room for one more. The defeat of the background check bill was the most flagrant case of political bullying. Correct, Chuck?
As for bullying in football I cannot agree with Mr. Pinkey. Football is a sport. A rough sport. This country is into sports. Young people look up to sports figures as role models, even heroes. A bully does not fit either of these roles. A little joking or teasing, taunting is one thing. A grown man who cannot see or does not care that his words and actions are distressing someone and does not stop is very, very stupid.
