to reject bill
Recently in The Daily Star a letter was published regarding New York Assembly Bill No. 5102, the “Natural Gas Infrastructure Act.” In my opinion, this bill would allow the taxpayers of New York to put up the sum of $50 million. This money will be given to the gas companies to build infrastructure and necessary facilities for the proposed Constitution Pipeline, which would pass through our wonderful countryside.
In a related story, Joe Mahoney stated that the gas company has given out nearly $300,000 in community grants. In my opinion, we the taxpayers will be paying for the pipeline and everything connected with it through the $50 million in grants (which are not paid back) authorized by our lawmakers if this bill passes.
This is wrong! This bill must not be allowed to pass in the state Assembly. Each assemblyman connected with this bill must be called or emailed to let them know how we feel.
