Work together to improve health care
Thank you to The Daily Star for encouraging everyone to read Time Magazine’s piece, “Bitter Pill: Why Medical Bills Are Killing Us.” Unfortunately, you are mistaken if you believe that the American health care system is fine if you have the money to pay for it.
The World Health Organization ranks the USA as number 37 out of 191 countries worldwide. This shockingly poor rating reflects far more than access to care. We are sicker, die younger, and lose more moms and babies than European and Asian nations paying only a fraction of our health care costs. We need to work together toward improving of our very sick health care system.
