---- — Take advantage of town pipeline suvey
I recently received a letter from the town of Davenport surveying town residents regarding the proposed Constitution Pipeline, which, if allowed, will cross about 128 properties in Davenport alone.
The letter, signed by Supervisor Dennis Valente, says that “The Town has heard the concerns of some of the residents that might be impacted by the pipeline. Maps and information are available at Town Hall. While the Board recognizes its limits in the decision process, we want to express the majority opinion of the Town residents, to the best of our ability.” The letter contains a brief description of the proposed pipeline with a short survey on the reverse of the letter.
The survey asks two questions:
“Are you in favor of or do you oppose the ‘Constitution LLC’ Pipeline in Davenport NY?” (favor / oppose / no opinion.)
“Is your land on the proposed pipeline route?” (yes / no / don’t know.)
Space is provided for comments, if any.
I urge all Davenport residents to let the town know their opinion regarding the proposed Constitution Pipeline. If you have not received a survey, contact the town and request one. Ask your neighbors if they received one, and encourage them to complete it, or to request one if they have not.
Surveys should be returned no later than June 25. Send your completed survey to the Town Clerk, P.O. Box 88, Davenport Center, NY 13751.
