I had the most wonderful time last weekend in Delhi! My husband and I spent most of our waking hours at the Catskill Mountain Film Festival, and it was a fantastic experience! What a rich and wonderful opportunity to attend as a viewer, and also for the many filmmakers, student and professional, to have such a wonderful venue to present their work.
Focusing largely on New York state filmmakers, but including others from as far as Scotland, it featured almost 200 short and feature-length movies, documentary and narrative. I was moved, entertained, educated, angered, transported and enriched. And it was FUN!
Hats off and thank you to Jessica Vecchione, the driving force in making this all happen, the CMFF board of directors for the time and expertise they contributed, and all the volunteers who made it happen. It was a pleasure to attend, well-conceived and executed. What a gem!
For all area movie buffs, who typically have to travel out of the area to see this quality of independent films — this is a venture to be nurtured. I encourage all to support the Catskill Mountain Film Festival in any way they can, and make sure not to miss it next year!
