I couldn’t agree more with Sal Furnari’s letter published in the Weekend edition. I would also like to add that when I was growing up I was taught to “take care of my own first” and then share with others.
The USA should not be giving any assistance to ANY country until all USA citizens are fed, housed, clothed and their medical needs met. Then, and only then, should we be helping other countries with their needs. To sum it up: if my roof is leaking and my neighbor’s roof is also leaking, wouldn’t I fix mine FIRST and then help my neighbors fix theirs?
